Composting at home

Home composting is rewarding and fun!

Up to 50% of the rubbish we throw away each week can be composted.

Composting is nature’s way of recycling. Millions of tiny, microscopic bugs eat the things we put into our compost bins and break it down into a crumbly, soil-like material – compost. This compost can then be used in pot plants or on the garden to improve the condition of your soil, in turn saving you money.

So, making free compost at home is great for your garden and plants!
